Wraps....the easy summer snack/lunch.

Wraps are the most versatile of all easy healthy snacks, so much more interesting than a sandwich and way more presentable ...and kid friendly too!
Ham and Cheese Wraps with Pesto!
Paired with an Orange, Pineapple and Passion Fruit cocktail, you know summer's here :)

To make wraps:
  • Flatout Wraps or tortillas
  • Any flavored cream cheese, pesto or any spread like hummus to provide the glue.
  • Cheese slices
  • Ham/Turkey/Beef/Chicken slices
  • Shredded vegetables- lettuce, carrots, avocados
Slightly warm up the tortillas and spread cream cheese across it, taking care to cover the edges well, we need this to ensure a good sticking point when we're ready to fold. Start with a couple slices of cheese and meat, layering them slightly off center. Layer on the veggies, sprinkle some crushed pepper for a kick and start folding over the wraps. Cream cheese holds it all together real well, make sure to get a tight wrap without tearing the tortillas and secure it all with a toothpick to hold it in place. Slice into 2 or 3 sections, the cross sections make a beautiful presentation if you have colorful veggies in them!

These are easy to prepare ahead of time and refrigerated for a couple of hours. And as always, I get all my ingredients for the wrap from Costco- great prices and uncured meat slices. (True Story ham and turkey slices) http://truestoryfoods.com/
